공 하나를 쪼개서 똑같은 공 두 개를 만든다?
바나흐-타르스키 역설
수학적으로는 공 하나를 몇 조각으로 나눈 뒤 돌리고 옮기기만 해서 원래와 똑같은 공 두 개를 만들 수 있어요. 1924년 바나흐와 타르스키가 증명했어요. 조각들이 부피를 잴 수 없는 이상한 점들의 모임이라서 현실에서 금을 불릴 순 없어요.

The Banach–Tarski paradox · Cut one ball into pieces and make two identical balls?
Mathematically, you can split a ball into a few pieces and, just by moving and rotating them, reassemble two balls identical to the original. Banach and Tarski proved it in 1924. The pieces are weird sets of points with no measurable volume, so you can't duplicate gold this way.
