이발사의 역설
깎으면 '스스로 면도하는 사람'이 돼서 규칙에 어긋나고, 안 깎으면 깎아 줘야 해요. 1901년 철학자 러셀이 찾은 집합의 모순을 쉽게 바꾼 이야기예요. 이 발견 때문에 수학자들은 집합을 정하는 규칙을 다시 짜야 했어요.

The barber paradox · Does the barber who shaves only those who don't shave themselves shave himself?
If he shaves himself, he breaks his rule; if he doesn't, he must. It's a friendly version of a contradiction in set theory that philosopher Bertrand Russell found in 1901. Because of it, mathematicians had to rebuild the rules for defining sets.
