비행기가 소리보다 빨리 날면 앞에 밀린 압력 파도가 겹쳐서 하나의 강한 충격파가 돼요. 이게 땅에 닿을 때 천둥 같은 '쾅' 소리로 들려요. 비행기가 소리 속도를 넘는 순간만이 아니라 그 속도로 나는 내내 생겨요.

When a plane flies faster than sound, the pressure waves ahead of it pile up into one strong shock wave. When it reaches the ground you hear a thunder-like boom. It's produced the whole time the plane is supersonic, not just when it breaks the barrier.
