방이 꽉 찬 호텔에 손님을 더 받는 방법

방이 무한히 많고 모두 찬 호텔에 손님이 한 명 오면, 모든 손님을 옆 방으로 한 칸씩 옮기면 1번 방이 비어요. 무한은 우리가 아는 '꽉 찼다'와 다르게 움직인다는 걸 보여 주는 이야기예요. 수학자 다비트 힐베르트가 1924년 강연에서 든 예로 알려져 있어요.

Hilbert's Hotel · How a full hotel can still take another guest
A hotel with infinitely many rooms is full, and a new guest arrives. Move every guest one room up, and room 1 is free. It shows that infinity doesn't behave like 'full' does. Mathematician David Hilbert is known to have used the example in a 1924 lecture.
