동전을 많이 던질수록 반반에 가까워지는 이유
큰 수의 법칙
동전을 열 번 던지면 앞면이 7번 나올 수도 있지만, 만 번 던지면 거의 반에 가까워져요. 시도 횟수가 늘수록 결과의 평균이 원래 확률에 다가간다는 법칙이에요. 1713년 출간된 야코프 베르누이의 책에서 처음 증명됐고, 보험이나 카지노가 손해를 안 보는 이유도 이거예요.
