'졸졸'은 작고 '줄줄'은 큰 느낌인 이유
작은말과 큰말
우리말은 모음만 바꿔서 느낌의 크기를 달리하는 말이 많아요. '졸졸·줄줄', '반짝반짝·번쩍번쩍', '깡충깡충·껑충껑충'처럼 'ㅏ·ㅗ'가 들어가면 작고 가벼운 느낌, 'ㅓ·ㅜ'가 들어가면 크고 무거운 느낌이에요. 이렇게 짝을 이루는 말을 작은말과 큰말이라고 불러요.
