글자 순서 바꿔도 읽히는 이유
단어 안 글자 순서가 좀 뒤섞여도 처음과 끝이 맞으면 꽤 잘 읽혀요. 뇌가 글자를 하나씩 읽지 않고 단어 모양과 앞뒤 맥락으로 짐작하기 때문이에요. 다만 한때 퍼진 '케임브리지대 연구'라는 말은 사실이 아니고, 실험해 보면 섞인 글은 읽는 속도가 분명히 느려져요.

Words with shuffled middle letters are often still readable if the first and last letters stay put. The brain reads word shapes and context, not each letter in turn. But the viral 'Cambridge University study' never existed, and experiments show jumbled text does slow reading.
