반딧불이는 어떻게 뜨겁지도 않은 빛을 낼까
반딧불이의 빛
꽁무니에서 루시페린이라는 물질이 효소와 산소를 만나 반응하면서 빛이 나요. 에너지가 거의 다 빛으로 나가서 열이 별로 없어 '차가운 빛'이라고 해요. 깜빡이는 박자로 짝을 찾는데, 종마다 신호가 달라요.
