입술을 살짝 들고 입을 벌린 채 멈춰 있는 표정이에요. 입천장 쪽에 있는 특별한 냄새 기관(야콥슨 기관)으로 냄새를 보내 분석하는 중이에요. 말이 윗입술을 뒤집으며 웃는 듯한 표정도 같은 행동이에요.

It's that face with lips slightly raised and mouth hanging open. The animal is sending the scent to a special smell organ in the roof of the mouth (the vomeronasal organ). A horse curling its upper lip like a grin is doing the same thing.
