뱀은 갈라진 혀로 공기 중 냄새 알갱이를 묻혀 입천장의 냄새 기관에 가져다 대요. 혀끝이 두 갈래라 어느 쪽 냄새가 더 진한지 비교해서 먹이 방향을 알아내요. 혀로 맛보는 게 아니라 냄새를 맡는 거예요.
