72의 법칙
72를 연 이자율로 나누면 원금이 두 배가 되는 햇수가 대략 나와요. 연 6%면 12년, 연 3%면 24년쯤이에요. 거꾸로 물가가 해마다 3% 오르면 24년 뒤엔 돈 가치가 반으로 준다는 계산에도 쓸 수 있어요.

The rule of 72 · How many years until your money doubles?
Divide 72 by the annual interest rate and you get roughly the years it takes to double your money. At 6% that's 12 years; at 3%, about 24. It works in reverse too: with 3% yearly inflation, money loses half its value in about 24 years.
