Sunflower sun tracking · Do sunflowers really follow the sun?
Young sunflowers turn east to west with the sun by day and swing back east at night. Once in full bloom they stop, facing east. A 2016 US study found east-facing heads warmed faster in the morning and drew about five times more bees.
