마감이 늘어나면 일도 그만큼 늘어나는 이유
파킨슨의 법칙
'일은 주어진 시간을 다 채울 때까지 늘어난다'는 말이에요. 1955년 영국 역사학자 파킨슨이 잡지에 쓴 풍자 글에서 나왔어요. 일주일 걸릴 일도 한 달을 주면 한 달 내내 붙잡게 되니, 마감을 스스로 짧게 정하는 게 도움이 돼요.

'Work expands so as to fill the time available for its completion.' British historian C. Northcote Parkinson wrote it in a satirical 1955 essay. Give a week-long job a month and it takes a month, so setting short deadlines helps.
