일이 늘 예상보다 오래 걸리는 이유

자기가 할 일에 드는 시간을 늘 짧게 잡는 경향이에요. 1979년 카너먼과 트버스키가 이름 붙였는데, 비슷한 일이 지난번에 늦어졌다는 걸 알면서도 이번엔 다를 거라고 생각하는 게 특징이에요. 비슷한 과거 일이 실제로 얼마나 걸렸는지를 기준으로 잡으면 덜 틀려요.

The planning fallacy · Why everything takes longer than you planned
We underestimate how long our own tasks will take. Kahneman and Tversky named it in 1979; the twist is that we know similar tasks ran late before but think this time is different. Basing estimates on how long past tasks really took helps.
