어떤 분야를 잘 모를수록 자기 실력을 실제보다 높게 평가하는 경향을 말해요. 1999년 코넬대의 더닝과 크루거가 발표했는데, 실력이 부족하면 뭘 틀렸는지 알아보는 눈도 부족하기 때문이라고 설명해요. 반대로 실력자는 자기를 조금 낮게 보는 경향이 있었어요.

It's the tendency for people with less skill in an area to overrate their own ability. Dunning and Kruger at Cornell described it in 1999, explaining that the skills you lack are often the same ones you'd need to spot your own mistakes. Skilled people, meanwhile, tended to rate themselves a bit low.
