캡차를 하는 이유
사람은 쉽게 풀지만 컴퓨터는 어려운 문제로 사람과 프로그램을 가려내는 장치예요. 2003년 미국 카네기멜런대의 루이스 폰 안 등이 이름을 붙였어요. 한때 리캡차는 사람들이 입력한 글자로 오래된 책을 디지털로 옮기는 데 쓰이기도 했어요.

It's a test that's easy for people but hard for computers, used to tell humans from bots. Luis von Ahn and colleagues at Carnegie Mellon named it in 2003. For a while, reCAPTCHA used the words people typed to help digitize old books.
