번개 치고 천둥까지 세면 거리를 알 수 있어요
천둥 3초 법칙
빛은 거의 바로 오지만 소리는 1초에 약 340m밖에 못 가서 천둥이 늦게 들려요. 번개를 보고 천둥까지 걸린 초를 3으로 나누면 대략 몇 km 떨어졌는지 알 수 있어요. 천둥이 30초 안에 들리면 가까우니 실내로 피하는 게 좋아요.

Counting thunder · Count from lightning to thunder to get the distance
Light arrives almost instantly, but sound only travels about 340 meters per second, so thunder lags behind. Count the seconds from flash to thunder and divide by 3 to get a rough distance in kilometers. If thunder comes within 30 seconds, it's close enough to head indoors.
