눈 오는 날의 고요함
막 내린 눈은 눈송이 사이에 빈틈이 많아서 스펀지처럼 소리를 빨아들여요. 게다가 눈 오는 날엔 밖에 다니는 사람과 차도 줄어들어요. 눈이 녹아 단단히 얼면 오히려 소리가 잘 튕겨서 이 고요함은 사라져요.

Fresh snow is full of air pockets between the flakes, so it soaks up sound like a sponge. There are also fewer people and cars out on snowy days. Once the snow melts and refreezes hard, it reflects sound and the hush is gone.
