혜성이 지나간 길에는 먼지 부스러기가 띠처럼 남아 있어요. 지구가 해마다 같은 때 그 길을 지나가면서 부스러기가 대기에 부딪혀 타는 게 유성우예요. 8월 페르세우스 유성우, 12월 쌍둥이자리 유성우가 유명해요.
