별빛은 과거
빛도 이동하는 데 시간이 걸려서, 우리가 보는 별빛은 오래전에 출발한 빛이에요. 햇빛조차 지구까지 8분 남짓 걸리고, 먼 별빛은 수백, 수천 년 전에 떠난 거예요. 그러니 밤하늘은 사실 과거를 보는 셈이에요.

Light takes time to travel, so starlight left its star long ago. Even sunlight takes a little over 8 minutes to reach us, and light from distant stars set out hundreds or thousands of years ago. Looking at the night sky is looking into the past.
