축구공이 휘어서 날아가는 이유
마그누스 효과
공이 회전하면 한쪽은 공기 흐름과 같은 방향, 반대쪽은 거스르는 방향으로 움직여서 공 양쪽 압력이 달라져요. 그 힘 때문에 공이 회전 방향 쪽으로 휘어요. 1852년 독일 물리학자 마그누스가 연구했고, 감아차기 프리킥이나 야구 커브볼이 다 이 원리예요.

A spinning ball drags air along one side and against the other, creating a pressure difference. That pushes the ball sideways in the direction of the spin. German physicist Heinrich Magnus studied it in 1852, and it's behind curling free kicks and baseball curveballs.
