귀뚜라미 울음소리로 기온을 알 수 있다는 그거
귀뚜라미 온도계
귀뚜라미 같은 곤충은 체온이 바깥 온도를 따라가서, 따뜻할수록 빨리 울어요. 1897년 미국 물리학자 돌베어가 울음 횟수로 기온을 계산하는 식을 발표해서 '돌베어의 법칙'이라고 해요. 종마다 차이가 있어 대략적인 값이에요.

Dolbear's law · How crickets can tell you the temperature
Insects like crickets take on the outside temperature, so they chirp faster when it's warm. In 1897 American physicist Dolbear published a formula to estimate temperature from chirp rate, now called Dolbear's law. It varies by species, so it's a rough estimate.
