20세기 동안 여러 나라에서 지능검사 평균 점수가 10년에 3점 정도씩 꾸준히 올랐어요. 뉴질랜드 학자 플린이 널리 알려서 그의 이름이 붙었어요. 유전자가 그렇게 빨리 바뀔 순 없으니 교육, 영양, 복잡해진 환경 덕분으로 봐요. 최근엔 노르웨이처럼 상승이 멈추거나 조금 떨어진 나라도 있어요.

Through the 20th century, average IQ test scores in many countries rose by about three points per decade. New Zealand researcher James Flynn made it widely known. Genes can't change that fast, so education, nutrition, and more complex environments get the credit. Recently, some countries like Norway have seen it stall or reverse.
