내가 직접 고른 복권이 더 잘 맞을 것 같은 이유

순전히 운인 일도 내가 어느 정도 좌우할 수 있다고 느끼는 경향이에요. 1975년 랭어의 실험에서 복권을 직접 고른 사람은 받기만 한 사람보다 그 복권을 훨씬 비싸게 되팔려고 했어요. 다만 그 실험만으로는 '직접 골라서'라고 단정하긴 어렵다는 반론도 있어요.

We feel we can influence outcomes that are pure chance. In Ellen Langer's 1975 study, people who chose their own lottery ticket asked far more to sell it back than those who were handed one. Some later researchers argue choice alone may not explain that result.
