오래된 성당 유리 아래가 두꺼운 건 유리가 흘러서일까
유리는 흐르지 않는다
유리가 아주 천천히 흘러내려 아래가 두꺼워졌다는 이야기는 사실이 아니에요. 상온의 유리가 눈에 띌 만큼 흐르려면 우주 나이보다 훨씬 긴 시간이 필요해요. 옛날엔 두께가 고르지 않은 유리를 만들었고, 두꺼운 쪽을 아래로 끼운 경우가 많았던 거예요.
