2005년 스웨덴 연구진은 두 얼굴 사진 중 더 매력적인 쪽을 고르게 한 뒤, 몰래 안 고른 사진을 건네며 이유를 물었어요. 바꿔치기를 바로 알아챈 경우는 13% 정도뿐이었고, 많은 사람이 원래 안 고른 사진을 두고 고른 이유를 술술 설명했어요. 우리가 자기 선택의 이유를 생각보다 잘 모른다는 뜻이에요.

Choice blindness · Explaining a choice you never actually made
In a 2005 Swedish study, people chose the more attractive of two faces, then were secretly handed the other one and asked why. Only about 13% of switches were noticed right away, and many people explained a choice they hadn't made. We know our reasons less well than we think.
