1963년 예일대 밀그램은 참가자에게 옆방 사람이 문제를 틀릴 때마다 전기 충격을 주라고 시켰어요. 실제로 충격은 가짜였지만, 참가자 40명 중 65%가 가장 센 450볼트까지 눌렀어요. 미리 물어본 사람들은 거의 아무도 안 그럴 거라 예상했기에, 권위의 힘이 얼마나 센지 보여 준 실험으로 남았어요.

The Milgram obedience experiment · Why ordinary people follow harmful orders
In 1963, Stanley Milgram at Yale told participants to shock a person in the next room for each wrong answer. The shocks were fake, but 65% of 40 participants went all the way to 450 volts. People asked beforehand predicted almost nobody would, which shows how strong authority can be.
