2007년 이탈리아 연구에서 개는 주인을 볼 때 꼬리를 몸 오른쪽으로 더 치우쳐 흔들고, 낯설고 위협적인 개를 볼 땐 왼쪽으로 더 흔들었어요. 좌우 뇌가 맡는 감정이 달라서라는 설명이에요. 다른 개들도 이 차이를 알아챈다는 후속 연구가 있어요.
